Girlguiding Climbing and Abseiling Training (Level 1)18th & 19th April 2015
The Girlguiding Climbing and Abseiling Scheme enables those who don’t have a Mountain Training UK (MTUK) qualification to gain the Girlguiding scheme qualification which will enable them to instruct Girlguiding members in climbing and/or abseiling activities. This scheme is primarily concerned with good practice leading to safe enjoyment of the activity. It is the combination of technical skill, experience, group management and personal quality, which forms the basis for effective supervision. Training by Dawn Scott (Guides), assisted by Phill Sparks (Scouts). Cost is £35 per person. Over the weekend we will cover everything you need to know about setting up and instructing climbing and abseiling, and we will demonstrate a range of equipment and techniques. This is a practical course and will be outside for most of the weekend so please come prepared to be active. Climbing safety equipment for the course will be provided.
